Compound Microscope: Compound microscopes are designed for high magnification and are typically used for viewing transparent or thinly sliced specimens.  They provide a two-dimensional, flat image with a narrow depth of field, making them ideal for observing microscopic structures at the cellular or subcellular level. Stereo Microscope: Stereo microscopes offer lower magnification compared to compound microscopes.  They provide a three-dimensional, stereoscopic image with a much broader depth of field.  This depth of field allows for the observation of larger, opaque, or three-dimensional specimens such as insects, plants, or small electronic components.
